Another quick trip to Philadelphia. This time, Sam and I spent a few days at a hotel in central Philadelphia just for fun and tried out a few new spots we had never been to before.
Game Shops of Philly
After our recent Gen Con trip, we were in a board gaming mood. We decided to check out a popular board game store in Philadelphia, aptly named The Philly Game Shop. This was a small game shop, but cute, and we were able to add to our dice collection. We also visited Queen & Room Game Cafe, which was a huge hit for us. They allowed us to reserve a table with three hours of unlimited board gaming from their huge collection of games. Plus, their drinks and food were pretty great as well. We ended up stopping by twice that weekend, and will definitely be back again in the future.
For dinner, we chatted and ate tacos with Shannon along the Delaware River at Harbor Park/Penn’s Landing. It was a delicious end to a great day of board gaming.
Ben Franklin Museum
Sam and I also visited the Ben Franklin Museum, somewhere we hadn’t yet visited in the city. This is a small museum with artifacts and stories from Ben Franklin’s life. Next door they also had a small printing press in the former location of Ben Franklin’s post office that demonstrated how an old printing press would work. It was incredibly interesting to watch! We also made time this day to stop for a oat and tan at La Colombe, another Philly staple.
This was a quick trip, but we always love visiting Philadelphia. It was great to spend a few days in the city and check out a few interesting sites we hadn’t previously visited.
