Trip Highlights:

  • The Amazing Race through Philadelphia
  • Seeing John Williams in Concert
  • Seeing Tulips and Longwood Gardens

Favorite Restaurants:

  • Reading Terminal Market

This trip had two purposes. First, to make up for our missed Christmas a group. And second, to allow Sam, Shannon, and I to see John Williams in concert.

The Amazing Race

On this trip I received my Christmas gift from Sam, a customized Amazing Race challenge throughout Philadelphia, but together by Sam. There were fun puzzles throughout the city that relied on some of the historical sights and other landmarks throughout Philly. It was a fun way to spend the day and explore a few areas of Philadelphia we haven’t spent a lot of time in before.

John Williams Concert

This trip was originally planned when we realized that John Williams would be doing a one-night, one-time concert with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra. As the composer of some of the most iconic movie soundtracks in the past 20 years, including Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and Star Wars, John Williams is in his 90s and rarely does live performances anymore. It was an awesome opportunity to hear his music live and see him conduct the orchestra.

Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens were in full bloom with many varieties of spring flowers, including every color of tulip imaginable. We spent a few hours wandering the gardens enjoying the many flowers.
